WATER SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
Water is the most commonly used extinguishing material except B, D and E fires because it is easily found in nature and has a direct effect on fire. The design of sprinkler systems, fire cabinets systems, hydrant systems and other water extinguishing systems are made by our engineering department according to different criteria and installation, maintenance and supervision are provided.
VDS approved software is used for the hydraulic calculations and project planning of the systems to be designed. For our designs, Fire Regulation rules are taken as priority and if the regulations are insufficient, NFPA 150 standards and EN standards are taken as basis.
Installation is performed by our own staff. In the same way, maintenance, periodic inspection and tests are carried out by our own personnel according to the "NFPA Test and Maintenance, Inspection" document.
1. Sprinkler Suppression Systems
All of the sprinkler water extinguishing systems which are engineered, designed, sold, assembled, supervised and maintained by GR Enerji Petrol İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. have international certifications and all system equipment are imported from Europe and United States. The hydraulic calculations of the sprinkler systems are carried out with the Hydraulic Calculation Program approved by VdS-Germany.
The Sprinklers system is designed automatically. The operation of the system and the selection of the equipment are made according to the design of the system. Water and dry systems are the most preferred systems. Systems are selected in parallel with the fire alarm system. There are options for starting applications with electrical or mechanical activation.
The following types of sprinklers are commonly used in water and dry type sprinkler systems:
Upright Sprinklers
Saggy type Sprinkler
Wall type sprinkler
Special applications
Sprinkler systems are divided into 4 main headings:
• Wet-Pipe Sprinkler Systems
• Dry-Pipe Sprinkler Systems
Wet-Pipe Sprinkler Systems
The most widely used water extinguishing systems. Areas without freezing risk are also preferred. In wet-pipe systems, fire pipes are continuously pressurized with water, so closed type Sprinklers are used. The increase in ambient temperature will expand the liquid contained in the Sprinklers' glass tube and cause the glass to explode, thus opening the Sprinklers' tip and the protected area will begin to drain water.
What type of system will be used in the area, after the visit and according to the characteristics of the room is determined. Wet-pipe Sprinklers systems are the most preferred and cost-effective systems. Depending on the system type, the valve group to be used varies. The equipment used in the system is chosen to provide the necessary certifications in accordance with the technical specification.
Sprinkler systems are all Class A and C fire systems that can be used. Design and projects are provided as isometric drawings and hydraulic calculations to the customer.
Dry-Pipe Sprinkler Systems
Dry-pipe systems are used in places where there is a possibility of freezing or at high temperatures. Dry-pipe systems are examined in two sub-headings as pre-action systems and dominant systems.
a. Pre-action systems
Pre-action systems are used to prevent water damage that will occur at the site during false or false alarms. Pre-action systems are divided into two sections.
• Single Locked Systems
A device or pilot line is used to detect the single-locking systems to be activated. The activation of the Sprinklers alone does not activate the system. Water is delivered to the system by the activating signal sent by the sensing equipment. Water comes from activated sprinklers only during the fire.
• Double Locked Systems
In order for dual-locking systems to be activated, it is necessary for the two detection equipment to detect and confirm each other. Activation can be pneumatic/pneumatic, electric/pneumatic or electric/electric. Water comes from activated sprinklers only during the fire.
b. Dominant Systems
Open-ended Sprinklers are used in Dominant Systems. It is a dry pipe system where the water coming into the system is detected by sensing the equipment and sending an activation signal to the valve. The water comes from all the sprinklers in the system.
2. Fire Pumps
Fire pumps provide pressurized water to water suppression systems In the event of a fire pump being used in the system, spare pump of the same capacity should be included. The operation of the fire pump will be provided by the electric motor, as well as with internal combustion diesel engines or turbines. If the spare diesel pump is not used, the energy supply of fire pumps should be provided from a reliable source independent of the overall electrical system of the building.
Our fire pumps are being supplied in accordance with TS EN 12485 or NFPA20 standards. If requested, certified pumps such as FM/UL, which are international approval bodies, can also be supplied.
Different types of fire extinguishing pumps, which can provide solutions to different types of fire extinguishing systems, are available in our product range and engineering is done.
• Vertical Line Type Fire Pumps,
• End Suction Fire Pumps,
• Vertical Turbine Type Fire Pumps,
• Horizontal Splitable Fire Pumps.
According to Article 93 of the Regulation on the Protection of Buildings from Fire, if a pump is used in the system, there must be a spare pump in the same capacity. If there are more than one pump, a sufficient number of spare pumps should be used provided that at least 50% of the total capacity is backed up. Along with the leak removal pump, groups of fire pumps come from at least 3 pumps.
The electric pump control panels are designed as wall or floor mounted. They are manufactured between 10 HP and 300 HP at 380 V/3~/50 Hz voltage. Diesel pump control panels are designed as wall or floor mounted. They are manufactured with 12 V DC and 24 V DC voltage values.
3. Fire Cabinets
Fire cabinets can be used in all areas where water and foam systems are used. The use of fire cabinets is mandatory in the following cases:
• In buildings with a height exceeding 60 m,
• In high buildings,
• In manufacturing, workshop, warehouse, accommodation, health, gathering and training buildings with a total indoor usage area is more than 1000 m2,
• In closed parking lots with a total area of more than 600 m2,
• In boiler room with thermal capacity above 350 kW.
All of the fire cabinets and hydrant systems sold, assembled, supervised and maintained by our company have international certifications, system equipment can be supplied from domestic and/or abroad according to need. The hydraulic calculation programs used in the designs are VdS-Germany approved.
Hydrants and fire cabinets can be used wherever water and foam extinguishing systems are applied, hydrants are generally located in open areas and fire cabinets are generally located in closed areas.
Fire cabinets are manufactured in accordance with TS EN 671-1 and TS EN 671-2 and the entrance valves are 2 ". Hydrants are designed to allow the fire department to utilize the internal fire pressurization system to intervene outside the building.
2 and 3-way bodies are manufactured from 4 "to 6", outlet openings 2 1/2 ". Fire cabinets are an effective solution tool for indoor areas.
4. Fire Hydrant Systems
In order to protect buildings from fire, hydrant system should be built to cover the whole environment of the building in order to be able to intervene fire outside. If the total floor area of the buildings to be built in residential areas with all kinds of usage areas and separately planned from general settlement areas is greater than 5000 m2, an external hydrant system is obligatory. In the fire hydrant system, the distances between the hydrants should be as follows:
50 m in very risky areas,
100 m at risky areas,
125 m in medium risk areas,
150 m in low risk areas.
Hydrants are used in order to meet the pressurized water needs of the fire department during the fire. 2 and 3-way bodies are manufactured from 4"to 6", outlet openings 2 1/2".
5. Watermist Suppression Systems
Watermist extinguishing systems are special applications and are used to reduce the harmful effects of water extinguishing systems on non-combustible materials. Spray is obtained by passing higher pressure water through smaller diameter orifices according to standard sprinkler systems. The increase in the effect surface of the pulverized water droplet also increases the cooling and suffocation effect. The amount of water used in watermist extinguishing systems saves approximately 90% of the amount of water used in standard sprinkler systems.
All of the watermist fire extinguishing systems which are engineered, designed, sold, assembled, supervised and maintained by GR Enerji Petrol İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. have international certifications and the systems are imported from Europe. The systems are operating at high pressures and as a pressurization unit, pumps or nitrogen-pressurized cylinders are used as needed.
Watermist extinguishing systems, which have been increasing in usage areas and references in recent years, are now preferred in many applications. Similar to clean gasses, it extinguishes fires with the ability to absorb heat energy in the side-to-ground source. In addition, it also helps to extinguish by reducing the level of oxygen in the environment.
The re-filling costs are minimal. Also hazardous to health product does not form during extinguishing.
Main areas of application of the system:
• All areas where the Wet Sprinkler System is used,
• Cable galleries,
• Wind turbines,
• Museums, archives,
• Historic structures,
• Road and railway tunnels,
• Commercial or naval vessels,
• Mines.
FOAM SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
Flammable materials that cannot be extinguished with water have an easily flammable property due to their chemical properties. For this reason, the fire risks they create are too high. Foam extinguishing systems are used against the fire risks of flammable and combustible materials.
Foam system; In addition to the extinguishing process, the fuel seals are covered with foam at the same time, thus preventing the leaks from interfering with the air. In order to form foam, the foam liquid must be mixed with air after it is combined with water so that it can expand. Bladder tanks, venturi proportions or pumps are used for mixing.
Foam is generally used in extinguishing systems such as foamed sprinkler system, foamed fire cabinets, foamed monitor system, foam generator.
Design, equipment supply, installation, supervision and maintenance services of foam extinguishing systems are provided by GR Enerji Petrol İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. according to the technical requirements, FM, UL, EN 1568, GOST certified systems and UL, ICAO, EN, LastFire Test, UK Defense, Lloyd's Register certified foam concentrates are used.
"Foam" based extinguishing systems, including synthetic based, protein based, film forming and alcohol resistant types; it is mostly used for extinguishing fuel and flammable liquid fires.
There are various types of systems that can be activated manually or automatically. Foam agent is generally used in sprinkler systems, fire cabinets, foam monitors, foam generator systems.

4. CO2 Extinguishing Systems
Carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless, non-electrically conductive gas used in firefighting systems. When applied in a fire, it stops the combustion process by cutting the contact of the fire with oxygen because the molecular weight is more than the oxygen. CO2 gas systems also provide cooling by absorbing the heat released from the fire in the area. Because it is a suffocating gas, it is not preferred to be used in human neighborhoods. CO2 systems are discharged into the protected area in maximum 60 seconds. Refill costs are low. CO2 gas extinguishing systems are high pressure systems and operate at a pressure value of 60 bar. The software used for hydraulic calculations and projects is VDS-Germany approved.
It is the most suitable gas for use in local applications and is used as the most effective solution especially in the protected area where chemicals exist. CO2 gas reduces the relative oxygen density at the place where the fire is extinguishing to below the level of oxygen density required for the fire to continue. Carbon dioxide; colorless, odorless, non-electrical conductive and suitable for extinguishing fire. It is inconvenient to use it in human places due to the effect of suffocation.
Main areas of CO2 gas extinguishing systems:
• In the generator rooms,
• UPS Uninterruptible power supply systems,
• In transformer rooms,
• In cable gauges,
• At natural gas distribution stations,
• In GSM link stations and cabinets,
• In turbines of HES and thermal power plants,
• In Ships; used in machine rooms and warehouses.
5. Inert Gas Extinguishing Systems (Argon)
Human health is at risk when the oxygen concentration drops below 12%. For combustion reaction, the minimum oxygen concentration must be over 15.5%. Inert gas systems reduce the internal oxygen level to between 12% and 15%, thereby extinguishing the fire and preventing people inside from remaining oxygen-free. Inert gas systems require 200 bars and 300 bars systems depending on the design requirement. It is one of the clean gas extinguishing systems preferred by it is not harmful to human health and it provides economical solutions to large volumes.
GR Enerji Petrol İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. provide supply, installation, supervision and maintenance services of inert gas systems. Projecting and hydraulic calculations are carried out with VdS approved software.

• In military installations, communication systems, tanks and armored vehicles,
• Used in ships, cargo, machine room, warehouse and energy panels.
6. Inboard (Micro) Extinguishing Systems
Electrical/electronic panels and cabinets are frequently used in industrial and commercial areas. In these energy-consuming systems, fire potential increases due to the decrease in cable resistance, excessive load, short circuit, equipment failures. A small fire that starts inside the panel can quickly expand and jump all over the system or even into the building. Panel fire extinguishing systems provide reliable, fast and cost-effective solutions. Depending on the requirements and technical specifications, HFC227ea, CO2, FE25 and dry chemical powder can be used as the extinguishing system.
Inboard extinguishing systems are mounted in the tube detector (tubing), which is made of polymer material connected to one end extinguishing system and the other end is closed (end of line) with a special adapter, circulated in the panel. Tubing is punctured by the heat released in a fire, activates the valve of the system and discharges from the point where it penetrates to the point where the fire begins. Thus, it does not need a separate detection system. Inboard extinguishing systems can protect 8.5 m3 volume with a single system. Instead of extinguishing the room where the panels are located, it reduces the cost by extinguishing the fire panel.
GR Enerji Petrol İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. provide supply, installation, supervision and maintenance services of inboard extinguishing systems.
The main uses of the system are:
• Electric panels,
• CNC workbenches,
• Wind turbines,
• Machine rooms,
• GSM Base Stations,
• Bank ATMs.

It also serves to you with its product range with approvals.
Fire Detection Systems have come to a very important point today and become a field of expertise. System selection, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance must be done by an expert team. Under these circumstances, however, a system can continue its vital mission properly.
Main Uses of System:
• Factories,
• Industrial Facilities,
• Mass Housing Projects,
• Residences,
• Shopping malls,
• Historical Building Projects,
• Hotels and Touristic Facilities,
• Archive Buildings,
• Hospitals and Schools,
• Warehouses and bounded warehouses,
• In public institutions.
1. Addressable Fire Detection Systems
In addressable fire detection systems, there are loop-lines connected by detectors. The detector in the loop can be divided into zones within itself. The panel can receive instant status information for each sensing element. Each detection element has a different address and number. In this way, the system can communicate separately with each detection element. For example, when a fire alarm button is pressed, the corresponding button first generates the alarm signal and then sends it to the detection panel together with its own address. The addressed fire alarm panel matches this number with the corresponding name in its own memory and displays the alarm information along with the name of the location of this fire alarm button on the screen. This ensures that the signal from which detector or switch is being received.
2. Conventional Fire Detection Systems
The fire alarm panel used in conventional systems comes from the zones where the detection elements are located. Multiple detectors and fire alarm buttons can be connected to each zone. A fire alarm panel also has outputs that connect fire alarm sirens and flasher sirens. These sirens are used to give the necessary warning to the inside people. Apart from siren outlets, there are also dry contact outputs. Dry contact outlets are used to operate air dampers, automatic telephone call modules, powerful ventilation systems and systems such as these in case of fire.
When any detector detects a fire or presses the fire alarm button, it triggers a warning signal from the region on which the alarm is located on the panel. In conventional systems, it is not possible to know which detector on the detection lines (zones) is signaling. Only the number and name of the zone to which that element belongs can be displayed.
3. Air Sampling Fire Detection Systems
Air sampling systems are a new detection product. In all detection systems, the main point is that smoke reaches to the system sensor and reaches the required density. In this system, the smoke is drawn from the source to the detector chamber. This system consists of holes drilled on the pipes at various diameters and an aspiration and sensing unit in the center, to enable PVC-based tubing in the room and uniform collection of sample from every point.
When the aspirator is running, the smoke is drawn from the protected area into the sample detection chamber. Smoke analysis is done in the detection chamber and if the smoke is above the set value, a fire warning is given. Various companies use different methods for smoke analysis: Systems that test smoke by laser beam with xenon lamp and simple systems using detectors that can detect at high air velocities of conventional channel type. The sensitivity of detection is determined by experiments that this system is average 1000 times more sensitive than detector systems.
Locations where the air sampling fire detection system is used:
• Where other applications are difficult,
• Wide and high halls,
• Sensitive detection is required in areas such as information processing rooms, clean rooms, etc.
4. Gas Detectors
It is a type of detector which prevents possible explosions and fires by giving an alarm in case of exceeding the limit values determined for the environments where flammable and explosive gases such as natural gas, methane, propane and hydrogen are present. Each gas has its own limit burst value. Therefore, the sensors that detect these gases are also manufactured separately for each gas.
A gas Alarm detector and system consist of the following main elements:
1. Sensing element (Pellistor)
2. Electronic Control Panel
3. Audio / Light Warning Devices
4. Automatic Gas Cutting Valve
These systems can be small-scale systems that can have the first three elements in themselves, or they can all form a separate system of advanced systems. Gas detectors are placed in the region at risk of gas leakage, and in case of gas leakage, it is a unit that transfers electrical change to the Control Panel. For this reason, the method used is very important in terms of creating a reliable system.
There are two main sensors used in this type of detector;
• Semi-Conductor Based Sensors,
• Catalytic Combustion-Based Sensors.
5. Flame Detectors
These detectors use optical principle. Each burning material has its own flame feature. Each color in the flame has a separate wavelength. The structure is made up of an optical cell that perceives a flame. These cells are made up of light-sensitive materials, which change when the conductivity is exposed to certain wave lengths.
These cells consist of substances such as gold, titanium, bismuth, which are first evaporated onto a semiconductor and then condensed. It allows the adjustment of these materials to specific wave lengths as a result of mixing and processing. These detectors are used in chemical plants, military facilities, paint factories, airplane hangars, mines etc. where there is a possibility of explosion or flashing, where explosive liquids or gases need to be detected quickly.
Flame detectors detect flammable, smokeless flammable liquids and gas fumes that can be seen or cannot be seen, in an easy and quick way to detect open carbon and plastic based fires.
Only IR, IR or IR/IR flame detectors are available. A disadvantage of the UV flame detector is that it gives a false alarm to the sunlight. In this way, Solar blind (not affected by sunlight) feature should be added in such environments.
6. Line Type Heat Sensing
Line type heat detectors are basically made up of a dual conductor and heat-resistant cable. These cables are normally separated by a polymer protective layer that dissolves against heat from each other. When the ambient temperature reaches a certain value, the protective layer dissolves and the wires form a short circuit of value. This short circuit is perceived as an alarm in the system. After an alarm, this melting zone must be found and replaced, otherwise it cannot be reused.
7. Graphics Software
It provides a quick and clear overview in case of danger. A well-organized user interface, an optional dual-screen mode and an immediate display of relevant building plans, fast printing function for the responsible authority, are features that distinguish ALVIS. More flexibility can be parameterized by communicating events via e-mail or SMS. There is the option of expanding to a multi-user system and the possibility of adapting all applications of hazard management (burglar alarm, fire detection and CCTV). Approved by ÖNORM F 3003, ALVIS has interfaces to various hazard detection systems.
LST Fire Control Panels Series The unique tool PARSOFT for parameter setting of LCnet216 with BCnet16, BCnet16 and BCnet216 convinces parameter setups even in mixed applications, with ease of operation via various functions. Well-organized Windows® user interface is another reason for the need for minimal training effort.
8. Fire Dampers
Our company carries out sales, installation, supervision and maintenance of fire dampers which enable smoke control and evacuation systems to take place and have an important role in fire safety. At a certain temperature, it prevents the smoke from spreading to a certain part or part of the building. Automatically isolates the fire zone in ventilation systems.

9. Spark Detection Systems
Production systems using pneumatic conveying and air filtration are at risk of dust burning and explosion. Most production machines can easily produce sparks and these sparks are pneumatically transported to objects such as wood chips, powders, which are explosive materials. The filters can cause a spark, fire or explosion that enters the silo or dust collector. As a result, major financial losses, long-term downtime and, most importantly, vital losses can occur.
With the Minimax spark system, sparks are detected by special detectors. After the detectors send a signal to the pan, the pneumatic line is completely shielded by the flat nozzles and the spark is extinguished without reaching the filters and dust collectors, thus without major fires and explosions.
FIRE AND SMOKE CURTAINS
The design and installation of smoke and fire curtains imported from Europe by GR Enerji Petrol İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. is carried out by our experienced staff in accordance with the standards and customer's special specifications.
Fire curtains are used for passive system as an element of the building with the purpose of blocking the heat. Shopping malls, trade centers, metro lines and many others are very common in large buildings and businesses. The curtains produced from fiber material with silicon sides on both sides and steel strands inside are a curtain system used to prevent the fire from passing from one region to another. Thanks to its special fabric, it keeps high heat for a long period of time and provides ease of movement and struggle.
The curtains, which can be integrated into the existing fire detection system, automatically start working in the event of a hazard. Fire curtains are used to control and prevent smoke and heat, blockage, keeping corridors leading to escape routes clean and safe, and creating safe zones according to our fire regulations. Horizontal and vertical fire curtains are available and architectural, and design are also emphasized and assembled. A vertical fire wall is also used as a fire door and has been preferred in hospitals, student residences and homes in recent years.
In accordance with smoke curtains, architecture and escape plans, the smoke generated at the fire can be kept at the ceiling level, and at the same time the personnel can easily be evacuated in the downstroke period. It facilitates the safe release of the rescue team as well as facilitating the controlled release of people by making the areas independent of each other during the fire.
As it prevents the spread of smoke during the fire, it also plays a big role in releasing the smoke without spreading the smoke through the roof ventilation flaps. The curtains, which can be integrated into the existing fire detection system, automatically start working in the event of a hazard. They can be actuated by a signal from a fire detection system, such as smoke screens, fire curtains, or they can be activated manually. Airplane terminals, large shopping malls, commercial centers, and other uses with large user loads such as these spreads.

2. Smoke Curtains
Projects and installation of fire curtains imported from Europe by GR Enerji Petrol İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. are carried out by our experienced staff in accordance with the standards and customer specific specifications.
What is Smoke Curtain?
Smoke curtain in accordance with the architecture and escape plans, the smoke after the fire is kept at the ceiling level and also allows the personnel to be evacuated easily during the down stroke period. It makes it easier for people to evacuate during the fire, as well as for the rescue team to intervene in the event.

PASSIVE SECURITY SYSTEMS
The purpose of the building elements and systems used to block the smoke and heat in the building or installation during the fire, to remain in the desired area and to be thrown into the atmosphere; not to extinguish the fire, to take control, to enable the detection and extinguishing systems in a short time. Fire walls, doors, large-scale fire-stop, small-scale smoke and heat take on the task of blocking. Thanks to the fire ventilation flaps, smoke and heat are thrown out. In this way, the fire is controlled in a short time with minimum damage and loss, and the detection and extinguishing systems enter the circuit quickly. Passive systems can be triggered automatically or manually depending on the scenario of the fire alarm system or the building automation system.
1. Fire Doors
Fire doors are used to separate fire zones according to the fire evacuation plans designed in accordance with the building architecture. Fire escape stairways used to evacuate the structure are separated by fire doors and areas such as transformer centers, fog centers and kitchens, which are at a critical risk, are also separated by fire doors.
Fire doors are the most important part of passive fire precautions that ensure the safety of life and property of people used to protect fire escape stairs from smoke and flames, and to prevent the passage of fire and smoke between fire zones. Fire doors play a vital role in controlling the fire and are of great importance in reducing damage and possible loss of property.
Shopping centers are used in buildings where houses, hospitals, work places, hotels, show centers, cinemas, theaters and people are concentrated. Depending on demand and customer specifications, our company provides fire doors which are resistant to fire for 60 minutes - 240 minutes and their assembly is done by our team.
GR Enerji Petrol İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. product range; panic bar, single wing, double wing, glazed, roller shutter fire doors are available, depending on customer specifications and requirements are supplied and assembled.
2. Smoke Ventilation Systems
Buildings where there is no smoke control and inadequate evacuation systems can create very dangerous situations during the outsider's intervention and lead to difficult hazards to prevent. Due to oxygen deficiency during the fire, the unburned hot gas mass reaches the ceiling and descends to the ground level again with the heat generated by the flame after a certain period. Firefighters who want to intervene in the fire open their entrances and the unburned gases combine with oxygen, which causes explosion in large scale.
The systems to be installed for the smoke control systems must be in accordance with the building architecture and must be designed in consideration of all kinds of hazards. The main systems to be installed and installed for smoke evacuation systems are "roof ventilation doors", "jet-fans" and "smoke-fire dampers".
The roof ventilation systems imported from Italy by our company are designed and installed by our experienced personnel in accordance with international standards and customer technical specifications and they are accepted according to them.
What is Roof Ventilation Systems?
Roof ventilation systems, or smoke exhaust flaps, are used for atmospheric disposal of smokes generated during a fire. Especially in single-story production facilities and storage areas, dome-shaped architectures and structures without positive pressurization system, smoke generated in the event of fire will be collected rapidly in the upper level and will accumulate over time. This will result in deflection if the structure is steel construction and will result in fatal consequences if people are found inside.
Thanks to the smoke exhaust flaps, the building is separated into zones with smoke curtains. Smoke hatches are opened to provide fire escape time, heat rise and smoke detection, the only important thing is to open the hatches in the same zone so that the smoke is only allowed to exit from one direction and the smoke removal is provided without damaging other items in the factory. In other words, the smoke flaps and smoke curtains work together. The opening of the doors can be provided electrically or with carbon dioxide explosive pneumatic cylinders. Roof ventilation systems are followed by our company at every step of the project.
